Brow 101: My Favorite Brow Products and Brow Tutorial

In high school, I used to be the girl that never left home without her lipgloss. My two favorites were MAC’s Underage and Oystergirl. In college I was rarely seen without black eyeliner. I still cringe when I see some old pictures of myself with thick, heavy, eyeliner. Nowadays, if I do nothing else, I will always do my brows…and sunscreen. I feel like I look instantly more put together when I have my brows done. It’s also something that won’t look unnatural on a naked face.

I’ve nailed my brow routine down to just a few easy steps. The best part? it takes me less than 2 minutes.

I’ve tried and tested A LOT of brow products over the years, and these are my holy grail favorites.

  1. Anastasia Brow Powder Duo in Dark Brown    2. MAC Eyeshadow in Omega    3. Anastasia Brow Wiz Pencil in Taupe     4. Benefit Gimme Brow in Light/Medium    5. Anastasia Brow Gel     6. Great Lash Mascara in Clear     7. ELF Eyebrow Kit in Medium

On extremely lazy days, I’ll brush through a couple strokes of Benefit’s Gimmebrow in light/medium. It darkens my eyebrows and the fibers in the formula stick to existing hairs creating a fuller effect instantly. It has a tiny spooley that makes it really easy to work the color in from the tail to the front.

Most days though, I’ll fill in sparse areas with my Anastasia brow wiz pencil in taupe. This pencil is an exact color match to my brow hairs and provides good natural looking coverage. A pencil fills in sparse areas and gaps better than powder, which is perfect if you have thinner asian brows like myself, or if you have a plucking mishap. For some reason, powders don’t stick to empty areas as well.
