Home Tour: Charleston

We’ve been busy unpacking and painting our lives away but we are officially in our new home! I taped this tour video of our last home in Charleston, SC and thought it would be fun to share. We were only there temporarily for less than a year so we tried to hold off on purchasing any new furniture and bigger items so we would have less to move with. Although the square footage was slightly larger than our condo, I feel like it was an awkward and long layout and didn’t fit our existing stuff as nicely as our former home. There is so much to do and see in Charleston so we were barely home and didn’t mind. I highly recommend you visit if you ever get the chance!

The dining room was connected to the kitchen and was essentially one long room spanning all the way to the living room. I loved the huge windows in this house that allowed a lot of natural light to come in.

With the office in-between and a partial wall for separation, the living room was at the front of the house.

Our kitchen was quaint and I really like neutral colors and white cabinets. Since we were renting, we did not touch any of the paint colors, flooring, etc.  The counter space was a bit lacking so we (meaning Will) built an island for extra storage. He extended the edge a bit so we could fit two stools on one side and it was perfect for quick meals.

My favorite part of the house was the Magnolia tree in our back yard. The blooms were so beautiful and fragrant. I wish they were able to survive up here. I tried to preserve some for a wreath but they did not survive. 🙁
