A few weeks ago, I created and shared a design board for a modern style dining room. Since then, I’ve created a traditional design and have decided to move forward with this one instead. I struggled a lot between practicality and overall aesthetics. At the end of the day, it came down to what looked better with the overall feel of the house. Our dining room has a beamed ceiling and a floor to ceiling marble fireplace that screams traditional. We’re investing a little more on our table and lighting but have opted to go for a more affordable option for the upholstered chairs so I don’t cry if they get stained. For a more personal touch, I’ve found a local place in Charleston that specializes in old vintage maps of the city. This is going to be the perfect souvenir for us to bring with us to our new house to remind us of all of the wonderful memories we had in this city.

What kind of souvenirs do you collect from your travels or previous homes?
