Modern Dining

contemporary dining room

I have about 500 home decor shopping sites up on my Safari now and am trying to decide whether I want to go contemporary or classic for my dining room so that I can take advantage of these amazing Labor day sales going on this weekend. I’ve always considered myself to be the more traditional type and have preferred a Restoration Hardware style dining room complete with pristine white upholstered linen chairs. I’m questioning the practicality of this style of room and whether it would get a lot of use without me obsessing over keeping it clean. I love the idea of a clean, simple, and to the point dining room with the Jonathan Adler Sputnik chandelier and the bold contrast of the gold metal against the navy paint serving as the main focal point. The best part? They are out of the way and can be enjoyed from a distance. I’m pretty much dead set on fitting in a fiddle fig tree somewhere in the house. I. Must. Have. One. 🙂 I love creating inspiration boards like these to help me get a better idea of how things will actually look like together.

What’s your design style? Traditional, modern, or somewhere in the middle?
